One of the things I get asked about when I'm working with families moving to Saratoga Springs is where they can eat safely if someone in the family manages celiac disease or gluten sensitivity.
It comes up more than you'd think. And honestly, the answer is better than most people expect. Utah County has some genuinely good options — including one of the best dedicated gluten free bakeries you'll find anywhere in the state.
Here's what I've put together for my clients and for anyone in the community navigating this.
A quick note: if you have celiac disease, cross-contamination is always a real concern. Always call ahead to confirm current practices, ask about dedicated fryers and preparation areas, and let staff know about your needs when you arrive. This guide is a starting point, not a guarantee of safety for every individual.
The Standout: Ambrosial Bakery
If you have celiac disease and you haven't been to Ambrosial Bakery, this is the one to know about.
Per the National Celiac Association's bakery directory and Ambrosial's own website, Ambrosial is a 100% dedicated gluten free bakery in Utah County with more than 15 years of experience. Everything they make is gluten free. No shared equipment, no shared space with wheat flour. For a celiac diner, that matters enormously.
Per Yelp's February 2026 Utah County gluten free bakery rankings, Ambrosial is the top-rated dedicated gluten free bakery in Utah County. They've been voted top bakery, cookie, and cupcake shop in Utah County while being completely gluten free the entire time.
What they make: cupcakes, cookies, bars, brownies, cinnamon rolls, bread, and custom cakes. Reviewers with celiac consistently say they can't tell the difference from regular baked goods. One reviewer said their pumpkin chocolate chip cookies "take me right back to childhood before I knew I had celiac disease."
Hours: Wednesday and Thursday 2pm to 8pm, Friday 2pm to 10pm, Saturday 11am to 10pm Instagram: @ambrosialtreats
They also ship cookies. Worth knowing if you have family visiting who can't eat gluten.

Bakeries With Gluten Free Options
These bakeries carry gluten free items but are not dedicated gluten free facilities. For celiac disease, cross-contamination risk is a real consideration. For gluten sensitivity, these may work well.
Avenue Bakery — American Fork (About 15 Minutes Away)
Per Avenue Bakery's own website and Yelp's May 2026 listing, Avenue Bakery is a family-owned scratch bakery at 297 West Main Street in American Fork. Wide range of gluten free options including donuts, pastries, breads, muffin tops, cakes, brownies, and custom cakes. Open Monday through Saturday 7am to 8pm. Phone: 801-420-2011.
Important note for celiac diners: The American Fork location is not a dedicated gluten free facility. Per Find Me Gluten Free community reviews, some reviewers with celiac have reported cross-contamination incidents with made-to-order items. The safer approach is to stick to the pre-packaged gluten free items in the cold case.
The Salt Lake City location is different: Per Avenue Bakery on Fourth's website, their Salt Lake City location at 376 East 4th Avenue is an entirely gluten free facility — no gluten on premises. If you want Avenue Bakery treats with zero cross-contamination risk, the SLC location is the one to visit.
Twisted Sugar
Per Find Me Gluten Free, Twisted Sugar carries gluten free options with clearly marked flavors and staff willing to get fresh toppings from the back. Not a dedicated facility.
Bismarck Doughnuts
Listed among gluten free bakery options near Saratoga Springs. Confirm what's available and how items are prepared before ordering if celiac is a concern.
Cravings — Alisha's Cupcakes
Carries gluten free cupcakes. Reviewers note "they usually have 2 to 4 gluten free cupcakes at a time and they're so good." Not a dedicated facility.
Tips for Celiac Diners in Utah County
Always call ahead. Menus and practices change. A quick call before you go is the most reliable protection.
Ask specifically about the fryer. A dedicated fryer for gluten free items is one of the most important questions for celiac diners. Shared fryers mean cross-contamination.
Tell your server when you arrive. Even at recommended spots, a reminder prompts staff to take extra care.
For bakeries: ask about pre-packaged options. At non-dedicated facilities, pre-packaged gluten free items made separately are generally safer than made-to-order.
Check Find Me Gluten Free. findmeglutenfree.com is the most useful resource. Reviews focus on cross-contamination practices, not just whether a menu has gluten free options.
