Before you light anything up this 4th of July, check your city's rules. Fireworks regulations in Utah County vary significantly from one city to the next — and with wildfire smoke already affecting air quality across the valley this summer, the stakes are higher than usual.
Here's the 2026 city-by-city breakdown for every Utah County city, with links to official maps and restriction documents.
Utah State Fireworks Window — Applies Everywhere
Regardless of what city you live in, Utah state law sets the baseline window for when personal fireworks are allowed:
4th of July window: July 2 through July 5, from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM. On July 4, the window extends to midnight.
Pioneer Day window: July 22 through July 25, from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM. On July 24, the window extends to midnight.
No personal fireworks are allowed before July 2 or after July 5 outside of the Pioneer Day window. Individual cities can be more restrictive than the state — they cannot be more permissive.
Interactive Fireworks Map
The Unified Fire Authority has released an interactive map showing fireworks restriction areas for Salt Lake County and Eagle Mountain. This is the most useful tool for Eagle Mountain residents specifically.

Saratoga Springs
Saratoga Springs has released its 2026 fireworks restriction maps. Given Saratoga Springs' proximity to Lake Mountain — where the Glambert Lane Fire burned 175 acres earlier this month — check the map carefully before shooting anything near open areas or hillsides.

In Fairfield and surrounding unincorporated areas, fireworks are only allowed on private property during the state-designated holiday windows. All fireworks are prohibited within 75 feet of undeveloped lots, brush, open fields, or dry vegetation.
Cedar Valley
All fireworks are strictly banned in Cedar Valley within 75 feet of undeveloped lots, brush, open fields, or dry vegetation. This restriction impacts large portions of local neighborhoods. Outside of those buffer zones, approved fireworks are only permitted during the designated state windows.
Wallsburg
Fireworks are prohibited in all Wildland Urban Interface areas, mountainous zones, and locations with heavy dry vegetation in Wallsburg. Most of the town and surrounding valley borders these high-risk areas.
A Note on This Year Specifically
Utah County has had an active wildfire season in 2026. The Glambert Lane Fire burned 175 acres in Saratoga Springs this month. The Iron Fire near Eureka burned 31,000 acres. Wildfire smoke pushed Utah to the worst air quality in the nation on June 23.
Fire danger is real and current. Even in areas where fireworks are technically permitted, use common sense. Keep a 5-gallon bucket of water nearby. Soak all used fireworks before disposal. Never shoot fireworks near dry vegetation, hillsides, or open land. Aerial fireworks must be ignited at least 30 feet from any structure.
If conditions are windy or fire danger is extreme on July 4, consider skipping personal fireworks and attending a professional show instead.
Safety Reminders That Apply Everywhere in Utah County

Professional Fireworks Shows in Utah County
